Shopping On Mackinac Island

I vacationed on Mackinac Island a few weeks ago, and of course I had to shop.  The main street is where you will find most of the hotels, lots and lots of restaurants, many, many purveyors of fudge (yum!), touristy t-shirt places and interspersed some cute little shops - two of which are Little Luxuries of Mackinac Island and Somewear on Mackinac Island.

At one of the t-shirt shops, Eric bought me a purple Hello Kitty hoodie and at $42 for the quality it was a rip-off but it was cold and we were going on an outdoor, night-time ghost tour and did I mention it was cold and also it was Hello Kitty!

Little Luxuries is definitely my favorite shop.  It is so cute and the owner even has a blog!  You can read that here!   I bought an old-fashioned Victorian style birthday card with a little dog just because I love old-fashioned cards (and little dogs), some dog treats for my dog, and this really cute garden marker made from old silver spoons.  It is engraved with the words "How Does Your Garden Grow" and I didn't want to put it outside in the rain where it will probably rust.  Instead I put it inside in one of the succulent plants that I am growing.

This is one of the super-cute, cherry-flavored dog cookies I got for Noodles.

The other great store is a boutique called Somewear on Mackinac Island.  They have fun jewelry and cute clothes.  I bought a fun and funky orange daisy ring that will always remind me of my trip.  I need to get a picture of it to show you!

If you are ever on Mackinac Island, be sure to stop at Little Luxuries and Somewear!

You can see some pictures of my trip here.
